OCuLink Interface is a PCI Express small connector standard developed by PCI-SIG organization. Optical Copper Link (OCuLink) interface is a composite interface of multi-digital protocol and single electrical specification, which can support different protocols such as PCIe 3.0 and PCIe 4.0, as well as storage protocols such as SATA and SAS. It uses two different connectors, SFF-8611 and SFF-8612, for the host and device ends, respectively
The main application of the OCuLink interface is to provide high-speed PCIe expansion capabilities between mobile devices and external devices, such as external graphics cards, storage devices, network devices, etc.
It allows mobile devices to achieve more powerful performance and functionality when needed, without having to change their internal structure and size. It also makes it easier for external devices to be compatible and connected with different host devices without requiring additional converters or adapters
